Safeguarding and Child Protection
The Designated Safeguarding Lead is Mr Williams and the Alternate Designated Leads are Mr Millican, Miss Flowers & Mrs Chilvers. The PREVENT lead is Mr Williams. Our Safeguarding Governor is Mrs Carolyn Glennon.
Parents should be aware that school takes its roles and responsibilities regarding the safeguarding or children very seriously and works in close partnership with parents to do so. The school will take any reasonable action to ensure the welfare and safety of its pupils is maintained.
In cases where the school has reason to be concerned that a child may be subject to ill treatment, neglect or other forms of abuse, staff have a duty of care to follow Suffolk’s Safeguarding Children Board procedures and inform Children’s Social Care of their concern. We also follow the Suffolk SET procedures for child protection.

Online Safety at Home
Online Safety is about staying safe on the internet. Internet enabled devices such as computers, tablets and smart phones offer lots of new opportunities, but also present new risks. All children are taught e-safety at school using a variety of curriculum resources. You can access the Childnet website for support and advice for safe use of IT at home by clicking HERE OR The UK safer internet centre HERE
In school we proactively filter internet access to ensure that the children are not exposed to any inappropriate or adult material. If you are a customer of BT, Sky, TalkTalk or Virgin Media you can follow this guide to set-up parental controls on your internet access.
There is also a handy guide for parents whose children are using social media HERE

Here at Benhall we take e-safety very seriously.
E-safety is an integral part of children’s education in today’s digital world and is embedded in their learning at school. We want to help our parents and children improve their own understanding of e-safety issues so they can learn to use the internet and all digital media in a safe and secure way.
There are many websites designed to help parents understand the key issues and risks that the very real 'virtual world' poses for our children. Stranger danger is no longer a child being approached in the park, it's often a predatory person, posing as a child, interacting with children behind a computer screen from somewhere far away.
In order for you to better understand the risks of today's online society some links have been added for you below;

We are always willing to support parents in their e-safety questions and concerns, please do not hesitate to speak to someone here at school if you feel you, or your child need further support.
