James Spink
Hi, my name is James Spink, I am a teacher at nearby Saxmundham Middle School where I’m currently Head of Year 6. At school my interests are Humanities, PE/Games and the School Council.
We moved to the village around 2 years ago and outside of work I enjoy walking our dog along the beach and around the village, reading sporting autobiographies and watching The Simpsons… D’oh!
My main passion is football and I support Coventry City FC, I have also been known to cheer for Norwich on the odd occasion! I also take a keen interest in local football, particularly Leiston Town. My favourite Premiership team would probably have to be Spurs! I am a qualified Level 7 Referee and have ran a couple of Great North Runs and enjoy (if that is the right word) running 10k race.
I really enjoy taking an interest in my child’s education and am a strong believer in the importance and value of a small village school to its local community. It is also very interesting to view my profession from a different perspective!
Hope to meet many of you soon. |

Cheryl Ward
Hi my name is Cheryl Ward, my two children Emma and Barney started at Benhall St Marys primary school in Easter 2008, they are now in year 1. We moved to Benhall early last year from Norfolk and love it! I became a parent governor, because I want to be a part of my childrens education and also hopefully to give something back to the school and community.
I work part time as a childrens nurse in the emergency department at the Ipswich hospital which I also love! In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my children and socialising. |

Dianne Wood
My name is Dianne Wood and I became a Parent Governor at Benhall St Mary’s CEVCP School soon after my daughter Jessica started school there in September 2008. As others have said, I too wanted to be part of my daughter’s education and contribute to the school in some way. There is certainly plenty to learn and try to understand! The way children are taught today is very different from the way I was taught as a child, but I am enjoying the challenge and it is fascinating to find out more about different teaching methods and the opportunities our children have today. |
