Our Curriculum

Intent

“...a man takes a mustard seed, the smallest seed in the world and plants it in the ground. After a while it grows up and becomes the biggest of all plants. It puts out such large branches that the birds come and make their nests in its shade.”
Mark 4 vs 31-32

At Benhall St Mary’s we like to see ourselves on a journey from acorns, growing to become a woodland of mighty Oaks - we strive to learn together and grow together, empowering each other to become the very best we can be.

Our school is grounded by our christian faith which inspires our learning, wellbeing and togetherness - Learning Together and Growing Together

Intention 1: To Learn Together

To work together collaboratively through enquiry based learning, developing subject specific knowledge, skills and understanding as set out in the National Curriculum and Benhall Topic Maps. We have high expectations which allow children to learn independently and creatively.

Intention 2: To Grow Together

To prepare children for life in the modern world,  a diverse and ever changing global community, with a rich and holistic curriculum

Intention 3: To Nurture

To enable children to thrive and flourish by developing the essential skills of independence, resilience, perseverance, imagination, co-operation, the enjoyment of learning, creativity, curiosity and positivity.

Intention 4: To Cultivate

To cultivate the moral values of our children, offering a safe and respectful environment in which to allow children to explore faith and spirituality, develop social skills, an ethical mindset and acceptance of their own and other cultures
